Yarn Dyeing Basics:
Learn how to easily and safely dye yarns to a photo or image
Instructor: Heather Campbell
Day: Friday all day
Time: 10:00 am - 6:00 pm
Hours Required: 6 hours with 2 hr lunch break
Maximum Students: 15
Class Fee (includes $75 materials fee): $182
Location: The Cabin (check in at the 4-H Building)
Class Description: You see the magical skeins of yarn and roving in all colors of the rainbow and you want to paint your own. Come learn color theory, safety and dye techniques. We will cover safety rules, materials needed and you will leave with 200 grams of dyed yarn. Please be aware due to the nature of dyeing you will be required to wear a mask at least part of the class.
Student’s Required Skills: Love to learn; beginner to refresher class.
Student Should Bring to Class: Apron or old shirt, face mask & waterproof gloves.
Supplies Provided by Instructor: Everything you need including yarn. Take home the yarn you dye and your own studio dye kit - includes mixed dye, crockpot, spoons, and supplier list.
