Class Description: The Peg Loom is one of the oldest traditional looms. It is easy to weave on and much more versatile than most people think. It was traditionally used for weaving rugs and blankets but can be used for many useful projects: Hats, vests, pot holders, chair pads, pet beds, bags and, using the finer pegs, you can weave a pretty & cozy scarf. Weavers use yarns, handspun and commercial, as well as rag & raw fleeces, utilizing often discarded parts of the fleece, and popular with sheep and alpaca farmers. We will weave a chair pad with yarn for this class. You will learn how to warp this loom. How to figure the amount of warp you need for a project and how to finish your piece. The booklet with the class will have other projects you can try with this easy, fun loom. If you have children, they can weave on it as well with a bit of help getting started.
Required Skills: None
Students Should Bring to Class: You can bring yarn if you want, worsted or better yet, bulky. Bring scissors and a measuring device.
