Class Description: Spin banana, pineapple, corn, and milk? Are rose and pearl fiber really made from roses and pearls? Isn't lotus a goldfish pond plant?
In this class you’ll have a chance to examine and spin samples of these unusual fibers (and more) in combination with wool top. You’ll learn a little about the production of these fibers, and you’ll have time to spin.
Required Skills: must be able to spin a continuous singles yarn (doesn’t have to be perfect)
Students Should Bring to Class: a working spinning wheel with all its parts; hand cards; extra bobbins; labels
Supplies Provided by Instructor: wool top and undyed unusual fibers; handouts
