Class Description: With minimal hand movement, this style of knitting is ergonomically gentle on the hands and wrists. Portuguese knitting is also an ideal method when working in color. We start with a new way to hold the yarn, a Portuguese cast on and then practice both knitting and purling our project inside out. For those wishing to advance into colorworks, we'll practice Fair Isle using 2 pins and 2 colors - this is a game changer!
Required Skills: Beginning Intermediate
Students Should Bring to Class: 1 skein heavy worsted/Aran weight yarn (main color),
1 partial skein heavy worsted/Aran weight yarn (contrasting color) if doing colorworks
US # 9 - 16" circular needles (must be 16" from tip to tip, so please, no magic loop or 2 sets of circulars, Basic knitting supplies
Supplies Provided by Instructor: Hat patterns and 1 Portuguese pin
