Location: 4-H Building


Description: Card weaving, also referred to as tablet weaving, is an ancient craft. This warp faced weave has traditionally been used for making strong, narrow, decorative bands and belts. The materials required are very simple; yarn, cards, and a shuttle. In this class we will weaving a narrow band consisting of 40 warp threads of three contrasting colors and 10 cards. There will be a chance to try several different patterns with this one warp.


Required Skills: None 

Students Should Bring to Class: scissors, belt ( as in a belt to keep your pants up) 

Supplies Provided by Instructor: includes warp and weft thread, 10 cards, belt shuttle and pattern.
