Description: Enter the world of mitered squares, a modular knitting technique, with Sierra from All Knit Up Designs. Sierra will bring you through the process of knitting a mitered square (with easy edging for pick up), connecting squares from each side and how to implement this great technique into projects! See wonderful inspiration from Sierra's design portfolio and own projects!
Required Skills: Students are required to know the basics of knitting: cast on, knitting, K2tog, SSK, and pattern reading. Knowing how to pick up stitches is a positive but necessary as the skill can be learned in class. This class can be done on either circular or straight needles, this is to the knitters preference.
Students Should Bring to Class:
- A US 7, 8, or 9 needle (straight or circular)
- 3 colors of worsted weight yarn (~20 grams of each color)
- Stitch marker
- A notebook and writing utensil for notes if preferred
Supplies Provided by Instructor: A multi page handout with instructions on how to knit the mitered squares and the different techniques we discuss in class.
