Description: Proper fiber preparation is crucial for successful spinning! Have you struggled with achieving a successfully consistent yarn? How do you know whether to card the wool or comb it? Are you interested in blending different types of fibers? You will have fun in this class learning how to prepare a variety of fibers with hand carders, combs, blending boards, a manual and electric drum carder. Each student moves through the classroom learning different techniques and practicing with all the different tools.
Required Skills: An understanding of spinning is helpful
Students Should Bring to Class: Students are welcome to bring their own hand tools but is not necessary.
Supplies Provided by Instructor: Instructor will supply a variety of fibers for all tools. Instructor will also provide hand cards, combs, blending boards, an electric and a manual crank drum carder.
