Description: Join us for an in-depth crochet class featuring Juno’s Veil — a stunning shawl that was originally released as an exclusive pattern for Hook and Needle during Portland's 2025 Rose City Yarn Crawl. As a special bonus, you'll receive a free printed copy of the pattern to take home.

In this class, we’ll focus on building your confidence and skills to take on a larger crochet project. You’ll start by working up a mini prototype of the shawl to get comfortable with the stitches and check your gauge. We’ll guide you through key techniques used in the pattern, including:

  • Asymmetrical double crochet increases
  • The Double V Stitch
  • The V Stitch (featured in the shawl’s lace section)
  • The Star Stitch

Whether you’re new to shawls or looking to level up your crochet game, this class will set you up for success with the Juno’s Veil project — and give you the tools to create a show-stopping finished piece.

Required Skills:  You must be comfortable with Double crochets, or other basic crochet stitches.

Students Should Bring to Class:

  • 2 skeins of Fingering weight yarn in contrasting colors (437 yds each)
  • 1 mini skein (87 yds)
  • 3.0mm - 4.0mm Hook
  • Color A will be the variegated color, Color B will be the contrasting tonal, Color C will be the mini skein.

Supplies Provided by Instructor: A printed pattern for the Juno's Veil Shawl
