Day: Saturday

Time: 9:00am - 12:00pm

Hours required: 3

Minimum number of students: 3

Maximum number of students: 20

Minimum age of student: 13

Total Class Fee (includes $0 materials fee):  $108

Location: 4-H Building

Description: Students will explore the art of knitting lace in the round to create a stunning mandala. Knitting mandalas combines mindful repetition, delicate lacework, and creative expression, making it a wonderful project for knitters who wish to deepen their lace-knitting skills.
By the end of the session, participants will have learned how to start a lace mandala from the center using the pinhole cast-on, work lace increases in the round, and read circular lace charts. You will leave with a mandala in progress and the skills to continue independently.

Required Skills:  Students should have familiarity with knitting in the round, increasing and decreasing stitches, and basic pattern reading.

Students Should Bring to Class:  Students should bring at least 25 grams of fingering weight yarn, preferred needles for working in the round in a small circumference (dpns, magic loop, or 2 circulars), stitch markers, notions, and pen and paper. It is helpful for students to use the Zoom app during class to see instructor’s demonstrations up close, on their own devices.

Supplies Provided by Instructor: Instructor will be available by email if students have any questions before or after the course. [email protected]
