Student’s Required Skills: Students need to be able to thread a needle.

Class Description: Starting with long leaf pine needles that have been soaked in glycerin we will make a small pine needle basket. Using a needle and waxed linen thread we will use a basket technique called coiling and make a diamond stitch basket. This is a small basket which will fit in the palm of your hand.

Student Should Bring to Class: Everything is provided.

Supplies Provided by Instructor (included in the Materials Fee):

  • Waxed thread
  • Needles
  • Pine needles soaked in glycerin to coil
  • Directions


Day: Saturday all day

Time: 9:00 to 5:00 with 2-hour lunch
