Dye Your Own Fiber
Instructor: Allison Harding
Student’s Required Skills: Love of color and fiber
Class Description: Design and dye 4 oz each of three different fibers plus 1 oz samples of things like nylon sparkle for spinning or felting! Learn about random, gradient, painted, and palindrome vs. continuous color repeats. Dye fibers differently for smaller projects or dye to coordinate for a bigger project. Allison will take you through each step from preparing your fibers to finishing the set dye with a little color theory for good measure!
Student Should Bring to Class: Apron or old shirt & Waterproof gloves (instructor will provide non-latex gloves, bring your own if you have allergies)
Supplies Provided by Instructor (included in the Materials Fee):

- Dyes
- Nitrile gloves
- Bottles and yorker caps
- Reclosable bags
- Plastic wrap
- Steamers
- Table/floor covers
- Water extractor
- Labeling materials
- Handout
- Samples
Day: Saturday all-day
Time: 9:00 to 5:00 with 2-hour lunch
Class Fee: $183 (includes $40 materials fee)
*Optional Materials: Additional undyed fiber/yarn will be available for purchase to dye in class IF TIME ALLOWS. Purchase from instructor using cash or card.
