Volunteer at Fiber Fusion!
Many Hands make Light Work

Volunteer!

Fiber Fusion needs the willing hands of many volunteers to help it run smoothly!
Here is your chance to share in this exciting event.
We have a remarkable team that is doing the groundwork, but we still have many areas that need your help!

We welcome your help in whatever capacity you are able - either chairing a committee, assisting committee chairs during the months leading up to the show, or assisting during the actual show.

Here are some examples of ways our volunteers have participated:

(Position requirements vary widely in time spent sitting, standing, walking, lifting, etc.)
Prior to the Show
  • Do you travel a lot?  We would appreciate your help in distributing bookmarks and flyers to area businesses.
  • Setup Assistance: including hanging signs, moving tables and chairs, setting up the Welcome Desk, setting up the different areas of the event, etc.
  • Sale-only Fleece Check-in: assist coordinators and sellers
  • Show Fleece Check-in: This hands on experience would enable you to get to know what all is involved in entering a fleece into a show.
  • Fiber Arts Show: assist during check-in
During the Show
  • Welcome Desk: If you enjoy interacting with the public, you could elect to take a shift in manning the information table at the entrance door, answering general questions and directing people to specific areas of the show.
  • Vendor Relief: provide breaks to vendors
  • Demonstrations: helping demonstrators with logistics.
  • Classroom Coordinator assistance: assist as needed with directions and class sign-ins
  • Fiber Arts Show: assist during check-in, assist during judging, monitor the Fiber Arts area and greet attendees while the fiber arts are on display (bring a project to work on during slow times - mostly sitting position)
  • Sale-only Fleece Check in: (Saturday 8am-noon) assist coordinators for sellers
  • Sale-only Fleece area: monitor the area and greet attendees
  • Show Fleece Coordinator assistance: assist as needed during the judging and during sales
  • Raffle: collect items from vendors, assist raffle coordinator as needed
After the Show - Sunday
  • Help is needed after the show for tear-down including removing signs, stacking tables and chairs, take down the Welcome Desk and other areas of the event, remove tape off of the floor, etc.
The list goes on and on. . .  As volunteer positions are identified, this list will be updated so please continue to check!
