Class Description: Take your weaving on the Rigid Heddle loom to the next step. Now that you can weave simple projects or even more advanced projects, are you ready to move forward and take the next steps in your weaving adventure? This class is designed to teach how to do more than your standard weaving techniques on a Rigid Heddle loom. It is a “Saori Inspired” freestyle weaving class for the Rigid Heddle loom. Let’s play together and be inspired to cut loose and have fun while weaving.
Required Skills: All weavers from intermediate to advanced.
Students Should Bring to Class: Must have an interest in learning how to weave in a free form way with hand weaving techniques on the Rigid Heddle loom. Bring a Rigid Heddle loom that is assembled and warped in black warping. Looms must be warped prior to class. Shuttles (minimum of 2), pick-up stick, scissors, tape measure and pen/pencil and paper. Also please bring 4 oz of handspun in your favorite color for your weaving and 6 oz of “grab bag” fibers, ribbons, and yarns to share with the group. Grab Bag=leftover yarns from previous projects, handspun art yarns, sari silk ribbons, novelty yarns etc.
Supplies Provided by Instructor: Covers additional yarns, fibers, sari ribbons for weaving with and handouts.
