In this class, we’ll look at these wonderful sheep breeds that come from the northern areas of the world. We’ll have a look at how their fleeces are similar and how they are different. We’ll learn how each fleece developed in response to both climate and human needs. See the changes that have occurred as these breeds were brought to the New World. Discover how to choose, sort and prepare each type of fleece for spinning. Learn a variety of spinning methods suitable for the different fleeces. We’ll spin a variety of yarns that will make beautiful cloth, either knit or woven.
Supplies Student Should Bring to Class: Spinning wheel or spindle.
Supplies Provided by Instructor: Fleece samples for sharing.
